Please help!
See how happy I am. You might ask how come I am so happy and smile all the time. Well, let me tell you. Even after being shot by a very bad person I have reason to smile. A very good person, I am sorry I do not know her name, picked me up and brought me to the vet. I would like to know his name too since he patched me up real good. I lost my right front leg but can hop around like a bunny and run very fast. Just ask Mocha, the cat I am living with today. There is 2 more cats where I live but they are like plants; they just lay around and don't bother me. Then there is my biggest friend Bentley. He is a Husky/Shepard cross and about 3 years old. He loves me like a smaller brother and looks after me. We play and play fight together like there was no tomorrow. I gave him a bloody nose by mistake the other day. I am sorry Bentley!
So, how did I get to know all these good people and fellow animals. After my surgery they took me down to the lower mainland, Chilliwack to be exact and I was cared for by a bunch of nice humans. There was one human boss there, her name is Ivanna Ferris and she was trying to get me a new home. After a while I was featured in The Province newspaper and that really got the ball rolling. I met a few future bosses and then there was this guy from Abbotsford with the funny name. He called me Remmi just like he is being called by his friends and family. I likedRemko right of the bat and let him know this by being a very good boy. Then there was a girl Ashley, I liked her too. She threw a ball at me but I am not a ball chaser, not yet anyhow. I heard them talk to Ivanna and they wanted to take me home. I wagged my tail heavily. But I first had to meet the "other 4 legged dog" they had at home. Hours later they returned with this 4 legged creature and I was going to show him dust. Thats exactly what I did! I ran around the building and he was chasing me. Me , a three legged dog! When we finally stopped we emptied the bowl of water together. Thats my recollection of Monday, April 28th 2008. The happiest day in my life.
Why was this possible? Because there ishumans like Ivanna and Remko that care.Humans like the vet and the lady that found me. Andhumans that donate and adopt dogs and other animals. Without them me and my other buds that are not as fortunate as me yet would be lost and dead.
So please donate to the people that make all of this possible. It does cost a lot of money (in my language: dog bones) to keep all the kennels running, buying the food and medication for all animals and the surgeries to keep us alive. So PLEASE donate! You can klick on the banners at the right.
You also can klick on my picture below which will bring you to the HELP website of the BCSPCA.
Thank you so much for helping. I got to go play with Bentley now (by the way: he was adopted from the Burnaby SPCA).
Remington.
